Impact of Health Insurance on the Health Care Delivery System


Abstract
Health care delivery system embody the social, economic and cultural characteristics of its society, It embody the often competing, often complementary objectives of diversified public and private organizations and individuals. Despite these diversities, all countries attempt to provide access to necessary, high-quality care for their citizens, while achieving efficient production of medically effective services.
Over the past several decades, the ability of societies to achieve these conflicting objectives has been called question. Health insurance system achieved to provide almost universal access, meanwhile the efficiency and effectiveness have moved to the forefront of the policy issues.
This study attempts to provide a framework for understanding the complex medical, social and economic forces underlying health care financing and delivery system. It provides a background for the policy debate on those problems in Korea. Hopefully, it will contribute to the development of effective policies for cost-containment delivery system.
